Grad Show Redesign

Client- ANU Grad Show

Individual Project

2022

The Grad Show is a place for all graduating students to showcase their works, as such each year it requires a redesign to showcase the emerging styles. The site needed to be reexamined to showcase the artworks and designs created by the students. Additionally, it required layouts for text heavy sections (Acknowledgments, about page, contact, etc.), portrait and landscape formats for the differing rotations of the works and a visual identity that highlighted the works. All of these requirements being hand coded. (html and CSS)

Prior to coding the CSS, I designed style sheets (Wireframes) that I could refer back to to ensure visual cohesion amongst the different pages. This also aided in testing the different formats (text heavy and image based)

For the designs, I took inspiration from high-end magazines and the Art Deco period which are showcased in the wireframes seen below. These inspirations aided in the grid layouts and cohesion of the differing artworks on show.

After the wireframes were created I designed wireflows to showcase the navigation for both the website and mobile formats.

Before starting on the CSS, I needed to code the HTML to fill the pages with content.
